Description of the artists:

Phocus began as an international project between Muneshine (Saskatoon, Canada) and Raks One (then Sycorax One " Rochester,
NY, U.S.A.). They released their debut album, "A Vision and a Plan" exclusively in Japan in late 2004, debuting at #11 on
Japan’s Hip Hop Charts. Since then the group has taken on it’s third member, DJ, Realson of Germany. Phocus is a group
based on the traditional approach to hip hop; banging beats, powerful, relatable rhymes, and the finishing touch of a DJ
to bring it all together. Phocus is currently working on their sophomore album, "Threshold". For more information on the
crew, check out http://www.waxreform.com. |
 | Fair One began in the Hip Hop culture through the gaze of graffiti, although not writing frequently anymore, he still remains
true to its core value system as it's applied universally to all Hip Hop elements. It simple doesn't mean 'fair' literally, but only a four-letter hip hop name without meaning. People used to battle over
the use of names and afterwards, the winner would add a suffix such as one to identify themselves as the only one - the
original. The loser of such a competition would either change there name entirely or add something unique to maintain
their status as a writer. http://www.faironemusic.com |
 | Sonny Rocwell. Lyve. Coco Dyce. The mind, body & soul of Heavyweight. Brought together by a genuine love for music and an
intensely artistic commonality, all three have become one to create a sound with a strange familiarity, a brand new
classic in oxymoronic terms. This trio is part of the five-man beatmaking collective known as The Goodness (with Vast
Mixed & Smith Rivers) and provide the sonic backdrop for the Heavyweight sound as Sonny Rocwell lyrically bobs and
weaves his way though the variety of kicks, snares and basslines. With a refreshing vibe reminiscent of an era in
hip hop tucked away in our memories, Heavyweight aims to become the future by adding to the eclectic mix of talent in
the present-day music scene. http://www.myspace.com/heavyweightent |
